Fr Philip offered his first Mass on Sunday 15 July at 5pm. It was another wonderful day of celebration, and we were pleased to welcome many visitors and friends once again to this liturgy.
During the Mass, the choir sang William Byrd's Mass for Four Voices, and the beautiful setting of Ave Maria by Robert Parsons while Fr Philip presented flowers to Our Lady and to his Mother.
The preacher was Fr Peter McGeary, Vicar of St Mary's, Cable Street E1, who preached a wonderful homily.
On Monday and Tuesday, Fr Philip offered the traditional second and third Mass for a new priest, namely a Mass of Our Lady (on Monday) and a Mass of Requiem (on Tuesday).
